The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking an experienced Materials Controller to join our expanding Capital Works Division team, based in Port Hedland on our BHP PDP1 Project.

This role is a FIFO Role, on a 2:1 Roster from Perth on a Full-Time Basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily interfacing with project teams on upcoming material movements and materials to be procured
  • Procurement; raise MR and liaise with vendors and purchasing department
  • Coordinate with store yard (Perth) on good, materials and truck delivery to site
  • Coordinate with Plant and Equipment hire companies; service kits, breakdowns, etc.
  • Ensure and maintenance good and accurate records of equipment status and damages
  • Notify sites of upcoming deliveries and communicate any related delays
  • Daily timesheets submission
  • Weekly submission of Plant and Equipment Pre-Starts records
  • All materials are received, catalogued  and notify end users of goods arrival
  • Ensure work assigned to material controllers is completed, on time and to safety standards
  • Compile documentation for dispatch loads
  • Maintain and manage accurate materials and plant and equipment movement records/registers, including inspection and servicing records of critical plant and equipment, for example Cranes, EWPs, etc.
  • Report damages of any goods, materials, plant and equipment and Client’s free issued items to the management immediately
  • Ensure material loads are packed and secured appropriately 
  • Enter and maintain records in company system/database
  • Ensure store materials are managed via store management system
  • Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed

About You

  • Previous demonstrated experience in a similar position
  • Strong working knowledge of SMP Projects
  • Good problem solving and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid Drivers Licence
  • Construction White/Blue Card
  • Forklift Licence (highly regarded)
