The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking Full Time Painter Blasters to join our ever-growing team, on an exciting Construction Project in the South West of WA.

The Project

Civmec has been awarded a significant contract from Albemarle Lithium Pty Ltd for the delivery of a new lithium hydroxide plant to be built in Western Australia’s south-west.


This Project will be located in the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area, near the port town of Bunbury.


Civmec’s scope of works will include Structural, Mechanical and Piping with expected completion date of mid-2021.


This project will be on a local DIDO basis working Monday to Friday with optional Saturday work available.  


Interviews will commence immediately with expected mobilisations starting as soon as possible.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering
  • Preparing surfaces by removing old paint, filing holes and cracks, smoothing and sealing surfaces
  • Selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives
  • Applying paints, using brushes, rollers and sprays
  • General cleaning of equipment and work areas
  • Grinding, sanding and surfaces of items to be painted
  • Loading paint and mixing paint into spray equipment
  • Connecting hoses to spray equipment and adjusting spray nozzles to required pressure
  • Securing items to be sprayed within spray booths
  • Directing spray guns to apply even coatings
  • Cleaning nozzles, containers and hoses of equipment
  • Setup of abrasive blast equipment for operations
  • Perform other general duties as required
About You
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the Construction Industry
  • Working at heights (preferred)
