Civmec has secured ongoing services completing BHP Maintenance and Shutdown works. The scope of works includes Civil, SMP, Electrical and Instrumentation projects and shutdowns located across the Pilbara, from Port Hedland to Newman.

Commencing late October, these roles consist of a start to finish construction of concrete ground slabs for a mine site storage facility located in the Pilbara region.

This is a great opportunity for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join the team working on a BHP shutdown, with potential works in 2025.

The Role

  • Perform mechanical repairs and servicing of various civil and workshop plant and machinery
  • Conduct fault finding for breakdowns
  • Maintain stock of hydraulic, mechanic, electronic and pneumatic materials
  • Assemble metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment
  • Complete mechanical checklists and weekly inspections of plant and machinery
  • Conduct marking and lining out

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Available for the duration of the shut (24th Nov - 7th Dec)
  • Nationally recognised Trade Certificate (Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Fitter)
  • 2+ years Industrial experience as a Mechanical Fitter
  • Previous construction experience within the mining and resources (preferable)
  • High Risk work licence with EWP (WP) over 11 meters
  • Valid Working at Heights (desirable)
  • Spotter Training (desirable)
  • Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness card
  • Previous BHP Project experience highly regarded
