Civmec are currently seeking experienced Boilermakers to support our team at CSBP which includes shut down campaigns running throughout the year as well as ongoing construction and maintenance.
On the ammonia side of the CSBP plant, the project scope includes welding works carried out during the preshut phase. BMW's will be responsible for field welding of small piping supports, fabrication and modifications to structural steel work and grating during installation tasks across construction and heavy industrial environments. The work requires broad experience across diverse project settings, with activities focused on supporting upgrades within NAAN 2 and the tertiary abatement areas while integrating safely with existing live‑plant systems. BMW's must have experience and be able to pass weld tests on 3F and 4F.
This is a full‑time role operating Monday–Thursday (10.5‑hour days), Friday (8 hours), with occasional Saturday work as required.
The Role
Reporting to the Leading Hand/Supervisor your key responsibilities are:
- Field fabrication and installation of small‑bore piping supports | Measuring, cutting, assembling, and fitting supports to specification.
- Structural steel modifications | Completing alterations, repairs, and upgrades to existing steelwork within NAAN 2 and tertiary abatement areas.
- Grating installation and adjustments | Removing, modifying, and reinstalling grating to support access and construction activities.
- General boilermaking tasks | Marking out, cutting, grinding, drilling, and preparing components for fit‑up and installation
- Interpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate
- Working Safely at Heights certification
- High Risk Work Licence for EWP + VOC
- A current Driver’s Licence
- Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card)
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
