Civmec are currently seeking experienced Brush Hands / Painters to support our CSBP Project which includes shut down campaigns running throughout the year as well as ongoing construction and maintenance. This work forms part of the CSBP Sodium Cyanide Expansion project in Kwinana WA and is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a major industrial upgrade and work alongside a skilled, high-performing team.
Full Time Local Role operating Monday to Friday 6AM-4:40PM. During a shutdown period you will be required to work 12 hour days.
The Role
Reporting to the Leading Hand/Supervisor, your key responsibilities include:

Perform surface preparation using MBX bristle blasters to remove rust, scale and old coatings

Mix and apply two‑pack and epoxy coating systems to specification

Carry out paint touch‑ups, blending and feathering for a clean, uniform finish

Complete galvanised steel repairs and touch‑ups using Zinga products

Brush‑apply coatings on small components, fittings and detailed areas

Paint larger structural items including pipe supports, electrical supports and general plant steelwork

Follow site safety procedures, maintain clean work areas and ensure all work meets CSBP quality standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in industrial or site-based painting
- Strong competency in surface preparation, including MBX bristle blaster use
- Experience working with 2‑pack and epoxy coating systems
- Knowledge of galvanised steel repair and zinc‑rich products (e.g., Zinga)
- Solid brush‑work skills and ability to complete high‑quality touch‑ups and feathering
- Working Safely at Heights certification, valid within 2 years
- High Risk Work Licence for WP (EWP over 11m)
- Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card)
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
