Civmec is entering an exciting new chapter of growth as a result of awarded and emerging projects in industry enabling commodities. As a result, we’re seeking experienced Senior Planners to help deliver these significant Western Australia based major projects.

With a substantial pipeline of Civil, SMP and E&I works, including large‑scale infrastructure construction, you’ll step into a role where your planning expertise directly shapes the success of complex, high‑value projects across diverse commodities.

As a Senior Planner, you’ll take ownership of planning and coordinating critical activities across multidisciplinary construction packages, ensuring seamless execution and playing a key role in delivering high‑profile works.

We offer DIDO and FIFO rosters on a 2:1 schedule, giving you the balance to enjoy your time at home while playing a key role in delivering projects that set new benchmarks in large‑scale construction. 

The Role

Reporting to the Lead Planner, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining projects and shutdown activities.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, implement and maintain strategies for the site to ensure optimal utilisation
  • Develop, implement and execute timely shutdown plans for the site
  • Effective record keeping of schedules – Change Management
  • Liaise with management team for forecasting scheduled and shutdown works
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives and instigate planning workshops
  • Ensure a high level of maintenance is achieved by creating, scoping, planning and scheduling work correctly
  • Develop and maintain time estimates of planned works using P6 / Excel
  • Upload and maintain accurate records and documentation for registered site records
  • Create and maintain planning deliverable such as, but not limited to: S-Curves, Histograms, PF reporting
  • EV Management
  • Assess and review QMR / MTOs and build Schedule mapping for ease of reporting
  • Create and manage QMR reporting to allow progress updates – and understanding Method of Measurement
  • Understanding of Power Queries using excel or Power BI advantageous
  • Assist in development of EOTs and Mitigation schedules as required
  • Provide and review HR man-hour reporting using Internal systems to provide actual analysis of works to management team

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • 5 years’ experience in a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated competency with Primavera 6 and MS Project highly regarded.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or similar, highly regarded
  • Proficient in use of MS Office suite.
  • Planning experience in a shutdown setting highly regarded
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, both written and verbal
  • FMG, Rio Tinto & BHP exposure - highly regarded
