Civmec are currently seeking an experienced Piping Superintendent to join our team on a major brownfield upgrade project at the CSBP facility in Kwinana. This role is critical to the successful delivery of extensive preshut and shutdown piping activities within the ammonia section of the plant. 
As the Piping Superintendent, you will take ownership of all piping fabrication and installation activities, including small and large bore pipework—predominantly stainless steel with some carbon steel. You will manage in situ welding operations, coordinate fabrication sequencing, and ensure all works meet strict quality, safety and compliance standards.

The Role

  • Oversee SMP construction and piping installation activities
  • Direct daily field operations to meet safety, quality, cost and schedule targets
  • Manage subcontractors and frontline supervision
  • Support preshut and shutdown execution, including tie‑ins to live systems
  • Monitor project costs, forecasting and reporting against budgets
  • Maintain the project risk register and ensure change control compliance
  • Ensure all supervision hold required certifications and training
  • Resolve workplace issues at the supervisory level
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections and leadership engagement activities
  • Promote a proactive safety culture aligned with company values
  • Ensure safe integration of works within a live operating plant

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Superintendent (mandatory)
  • 5+ years’ supervision experience with a strong piping background
  • Recognised Australian Trade Qualification
  • Management qualification
  • Blue/White Card
  • C‑Class Driver’s Licence
  • Strong communication and subcontractor management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
