Civmec is currently seeking an experienced Category Specialist (Labour Hire) to join our Contracts & Procurement team based in Henderson. 

This role offers the opportunity to provide specialist procurement expertise across one of Civmec’s most critical spend categories. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to drive value, ensure compliance, and deliver effective labour hire solutions that support business operations and project delivery. 

You will play a key role in developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to commercial outcomes across a dynamic and fast-paced project environment. 

 

The Role

 

As a Category Specialist, you will lead and support procurement activities for the labour hire category across the business. 

This includes exposure to: 

  • Category management and strategic sourcing within the labour hire market 
  • Preparation and management of RFQs and tender processes 
  • Supplier evaluation, commercial analysis, and negotiation 
  • Contract development and execution 
  • Market analysis, supplier performance monitoring, and reporting 

You will provide expert advice on labour hire engagement models, procurement strategies, and market conditions, ensuring alignment with commercial, operational, and governance requirements. 

 

About You

 

To be considered for this role, you will possess: 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in procurement within construction, mining, fabrication or a similar industry 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting tendering and sourcing processes 
  • Strong understanding of contract engagement models (e.g. panel agreements, MSAs) 
  • Exposure to category management and strategic sourcing methodologies 
  • Strong knowledge of supplier markets within the construction, engineering or fabrication sectors 
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills 
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical ability 
  • Excellent attention to detail and document control discipline 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams)
