Civmec is on the lookout for Contract Advisors who hold a Law Degree and have hands-on Construction Contract Law experience! If you have 3 years plus in private practice or a business setting and are excited to grow your career in contracts, negotiation, and dispute resolution, we want you. Join us full-time at our Corporate Offices in Henderson.
The Role
- Drafting and administration of contracts and legal documentation.
- Review of tender documentation and identification of contract risks.
- Review Head Contracts using CRA and issue commercial clarifications.
- Prepare and managing securities and insurances in accordance with contractual requirements and company policies.
- Conducting and co-ordinating commercial and legal negotiations with Principals
- Assist in drafting of strategic pre-contracts agreements.
- Assist in identifying, briefing, and engaging specialist external legal services as required.
- Reviewing contractual commitments and interpretation of rights and obligations made under contracts by the business.
- Liaising with company procurement, risk management and audit personnel.
- Provide advice regarding contracting, project and risk management across the business.
- Provide advice and input to internal estimating team on insurance and tender risks.
- Support the Pre Contracts Manager in providing legal advice across the business to management and executives for contractual issues.
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- University degree in Australian Law
- Minimum 3 years’ Post admission experience in private practice or in-house
- Experience in Australian construction law
- Relevant experience in the heavy engineering and construction industry,
- Good understanding of construction contract and risk allocation program(s) including critical path, float and delay analysis.
- Negotiating and contract drafting skills
