The Role

Civmec is embarking on a journey of diversification and expansion, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Project Manager who shares our values. With a robust pipeline of current and upcoming projects, we are looking for a Deputy Project Manager to join our team in W.A. This role offers both DIDO and FIFO opportunities. Our Deputy Project Manager will assist the Project Manager in the effective coordination and leadership of construction and project management, encompassing both civil and SMP scopes of work. The position ensures that site works are completed safely, on time, to the required quality standards, and within budget.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
 
•    Oversee the Engineering function and procurement of all project equipment and materials.
•    Ensure the safety of work crews and compliance with legislative guidelines, Company procedures, policies, and the Project Health and Safety Management Plan.
•    Assist the Project Manager with management of the Project Schedule, Progress, and Budget, including initiating remedial action where necessary.
•    Timely submission of all contractual notices including variations, claims, and extensions of time.
•    Assist the Project Manager with accurate weekly dashboards addressing actual costings, accruals, schedule progress, milestone status, and quantitative charts.
•    Actively participate in leadership engagement initiatives and meet monthly to discuss, generate, and refresh HSES and company initiatives.
•    Review and update the project resource plans and schedules for all resources on a weekly basis at a 12-week look-ahead.
•    Provide ongoing training and awareness programs for all project staff ensuring full understanding of corporate and project administration processes.
•    Audit preparation of subcontract and supply agreements, ensuring consistency with the Head Contract and Project’s requirements.
•    Ensure that change control impact identification, report preparation, and process monitoring are performed consistently.
•    Perform other general duties as necessary to suit operational requirements.

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:


•    Tertiary qualification in structural, mechanical, civil engineering or construction management.
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
•    Minimum ten (10) years’ experience working in the construction, mining and resource industries on large scale projects
•    Sound knowledge of the application and establishment of project planning, scheduling and cost control tools.
•    Proven leadership ability.
•    Responsible HSE attitude.
