We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Developer to manage the technical execution of software development projects, ensuring the team deliver high-quality software solutions.

 

In this pivotal role, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, deployment and continuous improvement within an Agile environment. You will work closely with the Solutions Architect to ensure all technical decisions and development activities align with agreed architecture, standards and business objectives

 

As the Lead Developer, you will help shape the direction of our software initiatives, championing best practices and driving technical excellence. Your role extends beyond hands-on development, requiring you to mentor and support the team while building a culture focused on continuous improvement and high performance.

The Role

  • Lead the software development team in planning, designing, prototyping, developing, testing, and deploying software solutions that align with project requirements.
  • Provide accurate development estimates to support project planning and the delivery of realistic timelines.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of software quality,  including coding practices, testing and documentation.
  • Mentor and support developers, building capability and encouraging professional growth.
  • Facilitate collaboration across functional teams to ensure software solutions meet business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Assist the Development team in identifying and resolving development impediments to maintain momentum and efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive and actionable feedback.
  • Drive high quality outcomes through effective testing, debugging, and CI/CD practices.
  • Create and maintain up-to-date technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and transparency.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in software development, with previous experience in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate development teams in delivering large-scale projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and modern development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with ability to navigate complex challenges.
  • Understanding of application security best practices and regulations.
