Civmec are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to provide oversight and coordination support to the electrical subcontractor tasked with the cable install and termination on the Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessels. This position provides great opportunity to join a prestigious project with a lengthy pipeline of work leading into the next generation.
The Role
- Ensuring project construction activities within the electrical scope are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
- Managing electrical and instrumentation engineering / technical queries on site
- Assist with the preparation of work packs, method statements and other construction related information in a timely manner as required to support the work schedule
- Compose weekly progress reports and update schedules as required
- Ensure relevant field inspection checklists are completed and signed in conjunction with client representatives
- Understand and implement quality control techniques
- Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested
- Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed
- Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Electrical trade certificate (or equivalent of)
- Previous experience on shipbuilding or ship repair projects
- Ideally minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- Experience working within a multi-discipline project team.
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents.
- A collaborative team approach to building effective relationships and influencing stakeholders
