After securing a very exciting project with Rio Tinto, Civmec are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our Project team based at the Henderson office for the first few months and then work a 2/1 roster in the Pilbara.
The scope of work being undertaken covers most disciplines performed by Civmec within the maintenance space. The project will comprise of 8 shutdowns over a period of 12 months performing upgrades on 6 of the clients balance machines (Stackers, Reclaimers and Ship Loaders).
You will provide Electrical engineering support and assistance regarding project management and to assist with Engineering duties as delegated to ensure successful project outcomes. Provide technical support to all engineering team and supervisors, to ensure compliance with specified engineering standards, drawings, quality standards and time and profit objectives for the specific projects.
The Role
- Ensuring project construction activities within the electrical scope are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
- Managing electrical and instrumentation engineering / technical queries on site
- Prepare work packs, method statements and other related information in a timely manner as required to support the work schedule
- Investigate and resolve engineering technical related problems and provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of project managers, superintendents, and contractors.
- Understand and implement quality control techniques
- Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed
- Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
- Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering
- Previous project experience on maintenance/shutdown projects within in the mining and resources sectors
- Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite is essential
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise technical reports and documents
- Experience working within a multi-discipline project team and focus on building effective relationships and influencing stakeholders
- Previous knowledge of bulk materials handling machines is preferred
