Located in our Assembly Hall, Henderson, WA, this is a full-time appointment offering long-term career security for a systems-driven individual.
The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the planning and execution of piping work packages, ensuring alignment with the integrated master schedule.
- Liaise with design, procurement, and production teams to ensure the seamless flow of information and materials required for piping activities.
- Monitor work progress, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule and quality.
- Estimating material quantities, costs, and equipment needs for project planning.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems.
- Ensure that piping systems are constructed in compliance with applicable Australian and Defence standards, classification society rules, and internal procedures.
- Verifying that all designs and completed work comply with relevant specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
- Support inspections and testing activities, ensuring that required documentation is completed and submitted for certification.
- Participate in progress meetings, design reviews, and readiness checks to represent production piping interests
About You
To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, or Production Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in shipbuilding, heavy industry, or defence-related manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Defence Maritime Engineering standards, Australian Standards (e.g., AS/NZS 5601, AS 4041), and classification society requirements (e.g., Lloyd’s Register, DNV).
- Prior experience working in Defence or Naval programs (desirable but not essential).
- Construction Industry White Card (or ability to obtain).
- Defence Industry Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines
