Civmec’s Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) division, Balanced Machines, designs the next generation of balanced machines, reclaimers, stackers and shiploaders providing materials handling solutions, for the mining sector across Australia. Our machines are designed, fabricated, assembled, and tested at our state-of-art Henderson facility, followed by on-site installation, commissioning and handover to our clients.

Civmec are currently seeking a Lead Senior Project Engineer to join this expanding team of professional Balanced Machine Engineers, you will enjoy a full project scope of work including design, engineering, execution, and final completion for our clients.

The Role

 

  • Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating project deliverables
  • Understand and implement quality control techniques
  • Attend progress meetings
  • Manage project design and engineering function, ensuring engineering deliverables are met
  • Monitor and review design changes to assess the effect on project budget and schedule
  • Attend regular progress meetings with both internal and external project stakeholders
  • Technical preparation and evaluation of vendor packages
  • Review and approve technical deviation/query requests and maintain TDQR register
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
  • To effectively lead an assigned group of personnel responsible for providing technical support to the manufacturing, construction and commissioning work teams;
  • Interface with all project functions, including design and engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning and handover;

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Structural, mechanical, electrical, Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 7 years in a similar role
  • Previous experience with Balance Machines, stackers, reclaimers, shiploaders and other material handling equipment
  • Previously worked on design, engineering and installation projects, ideally in the mining, materials handling or oil and gas sector
  • Previously worked in a similar leadership role
  • Sound knowledge of the application and establishment of project planning, scheduling and cost controlling tools
  • Sound knowledge in design and engineering tools
  • Proficient knowledge in all Microsoft Office Suites
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
