The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled ILS Training Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver training solutions in key areas of expertise. You will translate training demands into effective procedures and programs, ensuring efficiency and relevance. Additionally, you will coordinate and oversee the training activities of third parties, reviewing existing materials to ensure they meet project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify training needs and develop tailored programs.
- Design, deliver, and update training materials and documentation.
- Evaluate and improve third-party training content.
- Manage training equipment design, procurement, and quality control.
- Coordinate training activities with internal teams and external providers.
- Act as the primary liaison with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Track project progress and drive continuous improvement in training methods.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements while providing regular reports.
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification (TAE I40116) or higher (Required).
- Proficiency in marine engineering systems and equipment, including but not limited to Propulsion Diesel Engine, Power Generation and Distribution Systems, Auxiliary Systems, and Engineering Control Systems (IPMS).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the maritime sector, preferably in seafaring or shipbuilding.
- Strong knowledge of marine platform equipment, naval systems, and operational functionality.
- Proven experience in training coordination, facilitation, or analysis, including program management and delivery.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and apply modern training methodologies, including e-learning and simulation-based training.
We are delivering a significant naval shipbuilding and sustainment program for the Royal Australian Navy/Department of Defence. In pursuit of the SEA 1180 (Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessel) contract the company supports Australia’s national sovereign shipbuilding strategy and operates from the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson, Western Australia.
