Civmec are currently seeking an experienced QC Inspector to join our Shipbuilding Project Team based in Henderson WA. The role will be to coordinate and carry out inspections as required by Inspection and Test Plans and to provide technical (quality) support to the manufacturing and construction teams.      

The Role

• Perform work in accordance with the Quality Assurance management systems procedures and work instructions
• Undertake general welding inspection duties
• Prepare and assist in welding traceability issues
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of corporate and project specific documentation and review Manufacturers Data Reports (MDR)
• Report on product and process non-conformance and product preservation
• Monitor the calibration of inspection and testing equipment
• Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Post Weld Heat Treatment PWHT) requirements
• Organise and assist with welding qualification verification
• Monitor repair rates

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

• CSWIP 3.1 (Inspector) or equivalent international qualification
• Experience in a similar role/ welding fabrication industry (3) years for structural, and/or (5) years for piping
• Have strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to overcome challenges
• Excellent written and verbal communicator
• Cert 10 – AS1796 (Pressure Vessels)
• Intermediate computer literacy
