Civmec’s Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) division, Balanced Machines, is driving the future of materials handling. We design and deliver next-generation balanced machines, stackers, reclaimers, and shiploaders. Every machine is crafted at our state-of-the-art Henderson facility, from design and fabrication through assembly, testing, and finally on-site installation and commissioning.

We are currently seeking a Senior Lead Project Engineer to join this dynamic and growing team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the full project lifecycle from design, engineering, execution, and successful completion. You will contribute to some of the most exciting machine projects in the industry.

The Role

 

  • Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling, and coordination of project deliverables
  • Understand and implement quality control techniques
  • Attend progress meetings
  • Manage project design and engineering functions, ensuring all engineering deliverables are met
  • Monitor and review design changes to assess their impact on project budget and schedule
  • Attend regular progress meetings with internal and external project stakeholders
  • Prepare and evaluate technical aspects of vendor packages
  • Review and approve technical deviation/query requests and maintain the TDQR register
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
  • Effectively lead an assigned group of personnel responsible for providing technical support to manufacturing, construction, and commissioning teams
  • Interface with all project functions, including design and engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, and handover

 

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management
  • At least 7 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Hands-on experience with balanced machines, stackers, reclaimers, shiploaders, and other material handling equipment
  • Background in design, engineering, and installation projects, ideally in mining and materials handling,
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and cost control tools
  • Familiarity with design and engineering software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
