Civmec is seeking an experienced estimating professional ready to step into a leadership role and take ownership of our estimating function. This opportunity is well suited to a high-performing Senior Estimator who is prepared to progress into an Estimating Manager position.
In this role, you will lead and manage the estimating function, delivering accurate, competitive and compliant tenders while supporting a strong project pipeline. You will oversee end-to-end tendering, drive consistency and efficiency, and contribute to strategic bid decisions.
You will also mentor and develop the estimating team, work closely with stakeholders, and identify opportunities to improve processes and performance.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Henderson, reporting to the Group Proposals Manager.
The Role
- Lead and manage the estimating and tendering function, including strategy, preparation, review, approvals and negotiation
- Coordinate estimators across disciplines to deliver accurate, competitive submissions and drive successful project outcomes
- Monitor tender progress, provide reporting, and proactively manage risks and issues
- Review documentation, prepare cost estimates, and ensure accuracy in take-offs, pricing and methodologies
- Source and manage subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Lead client engagement, tender clarifications and negotiations
- Oversee handover of successful tenders to project teams and brief stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with corporate procedures, quality standards and safety requirements
- Support business growth by maintaining a strong pipeline and building client relationships
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience gained with recognised contractors working in the construction, mining and resource industries on large scale projects.
- Previous experience leading large estimates for the mining, resource and / or infrastructure industries.
- Previous experience within the Civil, SMP or fabrication disciplines is essential.
- The successful applicant will display proven leadership skills
- You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with their co-workers and management.
- Highly developed skills with Microsoft software and particularly MS Excel.
