Civmec’s Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) division, Balanced Machines, is driving the future of materials handling. We design and deliver next-generation balanced machines, stackers, reclaimers, and shiploaders. Every machine is crafted at our state-of-the-art Henderson facility, from design and fabrication through assembly, testing, and finally on-site installation and commissioning.

We’re looking for an accomplished Project Manager to join our fast-growing, high-performing team. In this pivotal role, you’ll take full ownership of delivering complex, multi-disciplinary Balanced Machine projects. You’ll lead and inspire dynamic teams, driving end-to-end project execution, from initial scope through to successful completion, while ensuring excellence at every stage.

The Role

  • Implement and work to the safety and quality management systems procedures and work instructions.
  • Provide leadership to the project teams to successfully deliver projects in safely, on time and within budget.
  • Provide direction, guidance and accountability to the project team to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Direct management and accountability for design and engineering and project engineering delivery, procurement, fabrication, assembly, commissioning and handover through the full project life cycle
  • Management oversight of project engineering, through engineering change control.
  • Manage Head Contract, with Clients and ensure notifications are issued in accordance with the contract.
  • Identify variations, submit notifications, cost and schedule impacts in accordance with the contract.
  • Ensure the project schedule is established and monitor progress against the baseline schedule and implement corrective actions where necessary to mitigate slippage.
  • Ensure appropriate manning is mobilised in each function to meet the schedule.
  • Monitor cost budgets and update monthly CVR.
  • Review and issue procurement contracts.
  • Ensure subcontracts are executed and subcontract personnel mobilised as per the schedule.
  • Compile progress claims and arrange invoices.
  • Review subcontractor progress claims and variations.
  • Control and coordination of execution of the project within limits of authority

 

 

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in structural, mechanical, civil engineering or construction management is essential.
  • Sound knowledge of the application and establishment of project planning, scheduling and cost control tools is essential.
  • Extensive industry experience
  • Recognition for delivery of well executed Project Management, preferably in the Balanced Machine, mining, construction industry sector
  • Proven leadership with a responsible HSE attitude.
