Civmec is actively seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic payroll team as a Payroll Supervisor. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Payroll Manager and lead a team to handle crucial tasks involved in processing our weekly and monthly payrolls. This position offers a unique opportunity for career progression, as you will be at the forefront of our payroll operations, working closely with our experienced Payroll Manager to drive success and innovation. The Role

 

  • Payroll Operations – Ensure high quality payroll processing, issue resolution and business continuity, acting as the point of escalation for any payroll queries.
  • Talent Development and Engagement – You’ll lead a team of 5 payroll professionals, actively building their careers and development plans, while fostering a positive and continuous improvement-centred team culture.
  • Strategic Direction – Providing strong leadership, change management and best practice (including systems and technology), cross-functional direction, and collaboration for the purposes of business improvement.
  • Vendor Management - Ownership of the relationship with the payroll software provider and responsible for ensuring the system is stable, fit for purpose. up-to-date and able to meet business requirements

About You

 

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Formal qualifications in Payroll and/or Human Resources or equivalent experience in Payroll or Human Resources.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of Australian payroll calculations and processing, regulations, compliance, and best practice.
  • You would also be also responsible for ensuring compliance to payroll tax regulations, employment laws, ATO regulations and internal governance controls for the payroll team.
  • More than 10 years’ experience within the Resources sector.
  • Experience managing a payroll team in a complex and high-volume business and payroll function including weekly and monthly payroll .
  • Strong communication and change management skill - ability to work with and engage key internal and external stakeholders, engage and coach team members, and manage processes and change.
