Continued growth within our Fabrication team provides an opportunity for a suitably experienced Senior Planner to join the Civmec team.  As a Senior Planner with Civmec fabrication team you will be immersed in projects alongside your team, where the work is happening, yet still go home every night.  You will work with the team to define the WBS, develop and maintain the schedule or schedules for your projects. Ideally you will have former, similar experience and a thorough understanding of heavy industry construction and engineering, and we will work with you to support your long-term career ambitions! Interacting with the fabrication team, site teams, contractors and the client directly you will be given the autonomy and independence to manage your own scope and deliver and maintain a timely, accurate project schedule. 

 

The Role

  • Develop the WBS and activity sequence with full buy in from activity owners
  • Follow scheduling best practices to finalise and baseline the schedule in Primavera P6
  • Communicate the schedule to all stakeholders with tailored schedule views and visual aids as needed
  • Monitor production progress & resource expenditure and assist the Project Manager to steer the work
  • Compare progress with client programs and ensure maintain contract deadlines
  • Support the commercial team timely notifications of delay and appropriate with delay analyses
  • Liaise with the workshop, project engineers, quality control, clients and subcontractors as necessary
  • Maintain reliable historical data
  • Analyse fabrication methods and systems with a continuous focus on improvement and cost savings
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
  • Provide accurate weekly and monthly reports as directed\
  • Support any other planners that may from time-to-time report to you.

 

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in structural, mechanical, civil engineering or construction management
  • Proficient skills and knowledge in Primavera P6 is essential
  • Prior experience, in a heavy fabrication planning role is preferred
  • Previous project experience on Fabrication Projects ideally in the mining or oil and gas sector
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a planning role.
