Production Liaison Engineer (C4I)

The Role
Civmec are seeking a Production Liaison Engineer to join our defence team delivering Offshore Patrol Vessels. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing production activities that interface with Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems.
You will ensure work packages are delivered on time, to quality standards and in line with program milestones. Acting as the key link between production teams, subcontractors and stakeholders, you will enable the seamless integration of complex systems into the naval platform.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate C4I-related production activities
- Liaise with subcontractors and stakeholders to drive performance
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and schedule requirements.
- Support issue resolution and continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
- Maintain effective communication with client representatives, Ship/Area Managers, and Project Staff to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed.
- Monitor progress, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule and quality.
- Investigate and resolve production issues promptly to minimise disruption.
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Relevant Tertiary Degree and/or Trade Qualification.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in shipbuilding, heavy industry or defence related role.
- Background experience and knowledge in the shipbuilding industry and C4I install and integration.
- Experience working with the Department of Defence / Navy.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience within the Shipbuilding industry in a similar role.
- Proven business development ability including outstanding negotiation skills, persuasive ability and excellent communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Project or scheduling tool experience.
Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
