Senior HSE Advisor

The Role
Civmec are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior HSE Advisor to join our team on a major defence program delivering state of the art Offshore Patrol Vessels. This role is critical in ensuring that all health, safety and environmental standards are implemented and maintained across the project lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance on HSE compliance in line with company standards, legislation and client requirements.
- Develop, implement and monitor HSE management systems, procedures, and policies to ensure safe and sustainable project delivery.
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Drive a strong safety culture across the project by leading toolbox talks, training, and engagement initiatives.
- Liaise with project managers, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure alignment with HSE objectives.
- Prepare and maintain HSE reports, records, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement by analysing HSE performance and recommending proactive solutions
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Diploma in OH&S
- ICAM or Taproot Certification
- Minimum 5 years in a similar role
- Knowledge in the use of HSE databases
- Minimum intermediate level of knowledge across all the Microsoft Office Suites
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of key stakeholders and key role relationship members
- Incident investigation knowledge (i.e. ICAM & Taproot)
Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
