After securing a very exciting project with Rio Tinto, Civmec are currently seeking experienced mechanical superintendents to join our Project team on a 2/1 roster in the Pilbara. This position will commence in early January 2026 and run through until the end of the year. The scope of work being undertaken covers most disciplines performed by Civmec within the maintenance space. The project will comprise of 6 shutdowns over a period of 12 months performing upgrades on the client’s balance machines.

In this dynamic role, you’ll take charge of mechanical and shutdown execution, orchestrating complex work scopes, championing safety and quality, and keeping operations firing on all cylinders. 

The Role

You will lead a team and be the first point of contact with key stakeholders plus:

  • Oversee the maintenance of structural strengthening their current machines on site.
  • Commit to the Project key performance indicators as specified 
  • Establish and maintain appropriate and mutual relationship with stakeholders 
  • Conduct regular workplace audits and inspections, actively participate in leadership engagement initiatives and meet monthly to discuss, generate and refresh HSES initiatives.
  • Review and update the project resource plans and schedules for all resources, including staff, wages, plant etc. 

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the relevant discipline and similar industry. Ideally experience in the mining and bulk materials industry
  • Proven knowledge and experience in project planning and resource management is essential.
  • White Card
  • Recognised Australian Trade Qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise technical reports and documents
  • Experience working within a multi-discipline project team and focus on building effective relationships and influencing stakeholders
  • Previous knowledge of bulk materials handling machines is preferred
