The Role

 

This role is essential for supporting the overall Verification and Validation (V&V) program for designing and constructing six Off-Shore Patrol Vessels. It involves executing necessary V&V support activities, managing the V&V database, and making recommendations based on the results obtained within the SEA1180 Program. Additionally, the role requires coordination with various stakeholders to facilitate the acceptance and successful implementation of the SEA1180 Program.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of Verification and Validation (V&V) plans, processes, and procedures to ensure alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Lead the development of detailed Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) that clearly define testing criteria, methodologies, and objectives to validate the system's performance.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in Test Readiness Reviews, ensuring all test activities are thoroughly planned, resources are allocated, and all preconditions are met.
  • Oversee and coordinate V&V activities, including Harbour and Sea Acceptance tests, ensuring compliance with project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Proactively identify system faults or anomalies during testing and collaborate with relevant teams to develop effective strategies for rectification.
  • Prepare comprehensive post-test reports that include analysis, observations, test outcomes, and recommendations to guide future improvements
  • Define system monitoring requirements, track progress, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders on the status of testing and system validation.
  • Review and approve test reports submitted by subcontractors, ensuring that they meet contractual specifications and quality standards.
  • Analyse customer requirements and derived artefacts to ensure that all requirements are fully covered, compliant with regulations, and accurately implemented in the system design.
  • Evaluate the system design or supply data to assess overall compliance with contractual requirements and specifications, identifying any discrepancies or gaps.
  • Manage critical data to support classification requirements, ensuring all data is complete, accurate, and appropriately documented for final system acceptance.

 

 

About You

 

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

 

  • Post trade qualifications / Relevant Tertiary Qualifications (Engineering/ Systems Engineering)
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Proven experience in platform acceptance
  • Experience in design requirements management and testing activities
  • Experience and understanding of Defence environment
  •  Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management
  • Experience in working in large and complex programs
  • Experience in managing multiple activities, priorities and affectively managing these timeframes
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer experience levels

 

 

 

 

Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
