The Role
We are delivering a significant naval shipbuilding and sustainment program for the Royal Australian Navy/Department of Defence. In pursuit of the SEA 1180 (Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessel) contract the company supports Australia's national sovereign shipbuilding strategy and operates from the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson, Western Australia. We welcome applications from candidates for various positions for the program. We have a variety of exciting opportunities for individuals with Defence industry and/or shipbuilding experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Defect & Warranty Lead and Acceptance Lead in delivery of project and acceptance-related scope.
- Coordinate and supervise all waterfront maintenance, warranty, and sustainment activities.
- Plan and oversee daily work across multiple trades and subcontractors.
- Ensure all WHSE requirements, permits and access approvals are in place before work begins.
- Lead daily operational meetings, SPODS/SPOWS, toolbox talks and on‑site coordination activities.
- Act as the primary on‑site contact for subcontractors and customer representatives.
- Provide technical direction and prioritisation to support defect closure and sustainment tasks.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of quality evidence for warranty closure.
- Provide input to rectification plans, schedules, and progress reporting.
About You
To be successful in th role you will possess the following:
- Trade, technical or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline.
- Familiarity with a range of Systems & Tools (PLM, ERP and Defect Management.)
- Supervising maintenance or industrial work in a live operational environment.
- Ability to provide clear technical direction and set priorities.
- Involvement in defect rectification, warranty management, or sustainment projects.
- Experience at HMAS Stirling or similar Defence facilities.
- Essential to travel domestically regularly at short notice
Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
