Civmec is proud to be partnering with Iluka on the delivery of the SMPE&I package for the Iluka Rare Earths Refinery, one of Australia’s most significant critical minerals projects. This landmark development will establish the country’s first fully integrated rare earths refinery and involves the delivery of large-scale structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works within a complex processing environment.


As construction continues to progress, we are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the quality function across the SMPE&I scope. This key leadership role will be responsible for overseeing project quality systems, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements, managing quality assurance and quality control activities, and driving a culture of continuous improvement across the project.Working closely with project, construction, engineering, and client stakeholders, you will play a critical role in ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards, and industry best practice, while supporting successful project outcomes.

 

This position is based at the Iluka Rare Earths Refinery in Eneabba, approximately 274 km north of Perth, Western Australia. We offer a 2:1 DIDO roster, with all transport to and from site provided from Perth Airport.

The Role

The Quality Manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining project quality performance, managing audits and inspections, resolving quality-related issues, and ensuring quality records and deliverables are completed in accordance with project requirements.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and maintain project quality management systems, ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and certification requirements.
  • Drive quality assurance, quality control, auditing, and document control processes across the project.
  • Manage inspections, audits, and quality surveillance activities to ensure works are delivered to specification and industry standards.
  • Investigate, report, and resolve non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and promote quality awareness, training, and improvement initiatives across the project team.
  • Liaise with clients, third-party auditors, project teams, and stakeholders on quality requirements, audits, inspections, and reporting.
  • Monitor and report on project quality performance, providing accurate and timely reports to project and senior management.
  • Ensure quality records, documentation, and project deliverables are completed and maintained in accordance with project requirements.

About You

  • Lead Auditor qualification
  • Internal Quality Auditing certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quality Manager or similar quality leadership role
  • Previous experience within the SMP, mining, oil & gas, resources, or heavy industrial sectors
  • Strong Understanding of Quality Management Systems, auditing processes and continuous improvement principles
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects
  • Current White Card (Construction Induction Card)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and committed to driving quality excellence across project delivery
