Civmec is proud to be partnering with Iluka on the delivery of the SMPE&I package for the Iluka Rare Earths Refinery, one of Australia’s most significant critical minerals projects. This landmark development will establish the country’s first fully integrated rare earths refinery and involves the delivery of large-scale structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works within a complex processing environment.

 

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to take ownership of major electrical work fronts, leading site teams and contractors to deliver outstanding project outcomes. You will play a critical role in driving safety, productivity, quality, and project performance on one of Australia's most significant construction developments.

 

This position is based at the Iluka Rare Earths Refinery in Eneabba, approximately 274 km north of Perth, Western Australia. We offer a 2:1 DIDO roster, with all transport to and from site provided from Perth Airport.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you will take ownership of all electrical construction activities, leading site teams and contractors to achieve project objectives. You will drive work front performance, oversee daily execution, manage resources, and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules, quality requirements, and client expectations.

 

  • Lead and oversee all electrical construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage supervisors, subcontractors, and site teams, driving productivity, performance, and accountability across multiple work fronts.
  • Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials, and equipment, ensuring resources are available to meet project milestones and productivity targets.
  • Work closely with Project Engineers and the Construction Manager to resolve technical challenges, mitigate delays, and optimise project outcomes.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, and manhours, providing accurate forecasts, reporting, and input into construction schedules and resource planning.
  • Champion safety, quality, and compliance, ensuring all works meet project specifications, QA requirements, and client expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, promoting collaboration and successful project delivery.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to supervisory teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • WA electrical licence
  • White Card
  • S26 (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience 5 years within the field of construction, engineering and/or resources sector in a leadership role
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and changes in priorities
