Civmec are currently seeking experienced Concrete Workers to join our ever-growing team, on a new and exciting long-term Construction Project recently awarded in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. This role will be FIFO from Perth.
The Iron Bridge Magnetite Project is for the development of a new magnetite mine to support production of 22 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of high grade, magnetite concentrate product. The project is located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, approximately 145 km south of Port Hedland.
Civmec’s scope is for the construction of the structural concrete components for the dry plant Circuit A & B, including the primary, secondary and tertiary crushing areas, screening areas, air classification, bag house and primary grinding areas, Coarse Ore Stockpile and stacker, dry rejects, conveyors transfer stations and all related earthing, road crossing, substations and backfill works in Primary Crushers as well as Coarse Ore Stockpile.
Intake will commence from November with additional positions available for January 2021. Interviews will take place immediately.
- Placement of concrete in footings, slabs, columns, bases and walls
- Vibration and concrete compaction
- Installing levels and falls and screeding accurately to the levels provided
- Spreading and levelling of concrete using rakes, shovels, hand and machine trowels
- Steel Fixing experience would be highly regarded
- Works may include chipping, scraping and grinding of high spots, ridges and rough projections using pneumatic chisels, power grinders and hand tools
- Curing of concrete and monitoring the effects of weather during the curing process
- Sanding and patching
- Installing fixtures in concrete such as anchor bolts, and cast ins
- Eye for detail during placement around starter bars, peds, bolts and all cast ins.
- Minimum 12 months experience as Concrete Worker
- Current Working Safely at Heights Certificate
- Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card
