Civmec is executing critical work packages for Fortescue’s flagship Green Iron Project near Christmas Creek in the Pilbara an industry‑defining initiative aimed at decarbonising steel production through large‑scale hydrogen‑based processing. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer with demonstrated capability interfacing across mechanical and piping disciplines to support the safe and efficient delivery of these complex scopes.

This opportunity will provide exposure to an exciting scope of works alongside a solid team and supportive leadership focused on delivering a quality project safely.You will work alongside an experienced project team and technically strong leadership group committed to delivering a high‑quality outcome in line with complex engineering, safety and commissioning requirements.


 

The Role

  • Ensuring project construction activities within the electrical scope are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
  • Managing electrical and instrumentation engineering / technical queries on site
  • Prepare work packs, method statements and other construction related information in a timely manner as required to support the work schedule
  • Investigate and resolve engineering technical related problems and provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors.
  • Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating deliveries
  • Organise project testing requirements
  • Compose weekly progress reports and update schedules as required
  • Ensure relevant field inspection checklists are completed and signed in conjunction with client representatives
  • Understand and implement quality control techniques
  • Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
  • Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested
  • Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering
  • Previous project experience on construction projects within in the mining and resources sectors
  • Experience with Electrical workpack development
  • Experience with procurement
  • Experience with development of TQs'
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise technical reports and documents
  • Experience working within a multi-discipline project team
  • A collaborative team approach to building effective relationships and influencing stakeholders
