This is a great opportunity for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our Construction team on the FMG Green Iron Project at Christmas Creek. Civmec has been awarded the full delivery of Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation works that kicked off in June 2025 with project completion scheduled for early 2026. The project offers a 3:1 roster with transport to and from site provided from Perth Airport.

The Role

Reporting to the Leading Hand/Supervisor your key responsibilities are:

 

  • Conduct fault finding for breakdowns
  • Maintain stock of hydraulic, mechanic, electronic and pneumatic materials
  • Assemble metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment
  • Complete mechanical checklists and weekly inspections of plant and machinery
  • Conduct marking and lining out
  • Conduct pre-start checks on plant and equipment, hand tools, tooling and equipment prior carrying out the task
  • Maintain and keep tools and equipment in a safe area. Lock them away or return to store when not required
  • Follow quality control systems and techniques
  • Housekeeping
  • Perform other general duties as required

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

 

  • Australian recognised Trade Certificate
  • Current Working Safely at Heights Certificate
  • Current High risk elevating work platform license and VOC
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card)
  • Previous construction experience
  • Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen.
