The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking experienced Excavator Operators with multiple plant tickets to join our ever-growing team, on a new and exciting long-term Construction Project recently awarded in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. This role will be FIFO from Perth.

The Project

The Iron Bridge Magnetite Project is for the development of a new magnetite mine to support production of 22 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of high grade, magnetite concentrate product. The project is located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, approximately 145 km south of Port Hedland.

 

Civmec’s scope is for the construction of the structural concrete components for the dry plant Circuit A & B, including the primary, secondary and tertiary crushing areas, screening areas, air classification, bag house and primary grinding areas, Coarse Ore Stockpile and stacker, dry rejects, conveyors transfer stations and all related earthing, road crossing, substations and backfill works in Primary Crushers as well as Coarse Ore Stockpile.

 

Intake will commence from November with additional positions available for January 2021. Interviews will take place immediately. 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preparing and positioning plant for operation
  • Working from drawings, markers and verbal instructions
  • Ability to operate other plant is a bonus such as, Loader, Bobcat, Roller, Moxy truck
  • Show ability to complete the following including setting out of the drawings
    • Excavation of footings to designed levels
    • Neat dig footing so as concrete can be poured without the use of formwork
    • Trimming slabs to final level and to grade as per the drawings 
    • Loading dump trucks for Bulk Backfill
    • Excavate trenches and road crossings to correct level and line for conduits
  • Monitoring operation of plant and adjusting controls to regulate pressure, speed and flow of operation, and ensuring safety of other workers
  • Selecting, fitting and removing attachments such as buckets, rock breaking hammers
  • Raising, lowering and manipulating attachments using manual and hydraulic controls
  • Servicing, lubricating, cleaning and refueling plant and performing minor adjustments and repairs
About You
  • Current high-risk licenses to suit Plant Operation – Excavator ticket highly desirable
  • Final Trim experience will be well regarded
  • Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card
  • Demonstrated experience in Plant Operation
  • Previous construction experience in the mining and resources sector
