Civmec is entering an exciting phase of growth and diversification within our Construction division.


We’re looking for an experienced Planner with strong multidiscipline exposure to join our team on the Fortescue Green Iron Project at Christmas Creek. In this role, you’ll support planning and scheduling across structural, mechanical, piping and electrical work fronts, developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, coordinating with engineering and site teams, tracking progress and ensuring accurate forecasting across all disciplines.

This position suits someone confident in complex environments, skilled in stakeholder communication, and motivated to play a key role in project delivery.


We offer a FIFO 2:1 roster, giving you the balance to enjoy your time at home while playing a key role in delivering projects that set new benchmarks in large scale construction. 

 

The Role

  • Monitor production performance and ensure the correct resources are allocated across the project.
  • Develop and maintain detailed work plans and schedules, including bar charts, procedures and visual diagrams.
  • Use planning software such as Primavera to build, analyse and update project schedules.
  • Prepare logistics plans, progress schedules and forecasting reports.
  • Track project progress, compare against client programs, and ensure key milestones and contract deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to coordinate planning requirements.
  • Provide guidance on planning systems and scheduling methodologies
  • Maintain accurate historical project data for future reference and benchmarking.
  • Determine appropriate construction methods, sequencing, and resource requirements.
  • Interpret and support Extension of Time (EOT) and delay analysis.
  • Produce S curves, histograms, and other progress tracking visuals.
     

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in structural, mechanical, civil engineering or construction management
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel capability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar planning role
  • Previous exposure to FIFO project environments
