This is a great opportunity for experienced Poly Welder to join our team working on the FMG Green Iron project located at Christmas Creek. Civmec has been awarded the delivery of the Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation packages of work that kicked off in June 2025 with project completion scheduled for Mid-2026. The project offers a 3:1 roster with transport to and from site provided from Perth Airport.

The Role

Reporting to the Leading Hand/Supervisor your key responsibilities are:

  • Interpret engineering and isometric fabrication drawings, specifications and standards
  • Perform the welding of HDPE components using both electrofusion and Butt-fusion welding
  • Maintain all correct parameters in accordance with applicable weld procedures
  • Conduct visual inspection at the completion of each weld
  • Assign welder number to each completed mark when required
  • Utilise all hand tools and welding machines to perform required functions
  • Conduct pre-start checks on plant and equipment, hand tools, tooling and equipment prior carrying out the task
  • Maintain and keep tools and equipment in a safe area. Lock them away or return to store when not required
  • Adhere to all QAQC requirements required including logging parameters for all welds if the HDPE welding machine has no data logger

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar role within the mining and construction sector
  • Australian Recognised HDPE Welding Certificate
  • Experience in HDPE poly welding using both electrofusion and butt-fusion techniques
  • Famillarity with Ritmo / Dixon / McElroy polywelding machines is a bonus
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety
  • Current High risk elevating work platform license (Above 11M)
  • Current Working Safely at Heights Certificate
  • Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card)
  • Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
