Civmec is NOW HIRING Welders to join our Civmec team working on the FMG-Solomon project, tank installation
The Role
Reporting to the Leading Hand/Supervisor, your ky responsibilities are:
- Interpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards
- Undertake and pass all necessary weld qualifications in required weld processes
- Perform the welding of steel components in all positions
- Maintain all correct consumables, feeds, amperages and pre heat in accordance with applicable weld procedures
- Perform welding techniques including, but not limited to, MMAW, FCAW, MIG, SAW
- Weld steel structures in sequence to eliminate shrinkage and distortion of steel components
- Remove tack welds, clean and restore weld preparations where required
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Australian recognised Trade Certificate
- Experience in tank welding
- Current Working Safely at Heights Certificate within 2 years
- Current High-Risk Licence - EWP
- Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card)
- Ability to attend and pass a 4G & 6G MMAW, MIG, SAW and FCAW Inner-shield Weld Test before mobilisation
- Sub-arc preferred but not essential
- Current Drivers Licence preferred but not essential
- Confined Space Certificate within 2 years preferred but not essential
- Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen
