The Opportunity

Our Maintenance and Refractory team in Gladstone is growing, and we are looking for motivated Electricians to work on a variety of projects within the Gladstone region.

This role is offered on a full-time permanent basis (on a 12hr shift rotation), lifestyles rosters on offer for Locals, FIFO and DIDO which will ensure you have ample time to enjoy all of Gladstone and its surroundings. 
Whether it is the Great Barrier Reef, pristine waterways and beaches or our beautiful national parks you are certain to find a place to enjoy and explore in your down time.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and install control systems and associated equipment such as flow meters, variable speed drivers and pressure and level transmitters. Tasks involve trouble-shooting, routine maintenance, calibration and fault-finding.
  • Review the customer specification to ensure all technical aspects of contract are clear and understood.
  • Liaise with the customer on all technical aspects.
  • Provide a focal point for all technical based queries from all CIVMEC Personnel, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Trace out and test electronic solid state and vacuum tube circuitry and components to locate defective parts in analogue and digital, protection, or radiation monitoring systems, using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Remove defective instruments from system, decontaminate, disassemble, and clean instruments, and replace defective parts, using hand tools.
  • Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems.

About You

  • Working at heights (valid 2 years)
  • Current QLD Electrical license
  • Current First Aid & LVR CPR
  • Confined space entry (valid 2 years)
  • Current ‘C' Class Drivers licence or above
  • You must be a ‘team player’ with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and work crew
  • Able to attend and pass a suitable medical / physical assessment and drug screening
  • Blue / White Card
  • Proven experience in a similar work environment
  • Yellow Medipass
  • Clean shaven for 'Face Fit'
