The Opportunity

The Senior Project Engineer is a key member of our project management team. For the right candidate, it offers clear career progression to future management roles within the Civmec business. 
To aid in this career progression, you will be mentored by some of our senior leaders and have a clear development pathway.

This role is on an exciting new major project (>$100m value). It will commence in our Henderson Office and will transfer to FIFO 2:1 roster upon mobilisation of the Project. 
You will manage a team of project engineers and be involved in all aspects of project execution including construction, quality, commercial and management activities. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management of a large project field engineering team
  • Manage the technical engineering function of the project including technical queries, inspections and interpretation of design deliverables;
  • Interface and be involved with other project functions such as quality, commercial, construction and project controls;
  • Assist the project manager and deputy project manager with project management tasks as required;
  • Perform other general duties that may be necessary to support the project

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in structural, mechanical engineering or construction management
  • Minimum 5 years previous project experience on Construction SMP Projects ideally in the mining sector, oil and gas sector
  • Previous demonstrated senior/leadership skills
  • Sound knowledge of the application and establishment of project planning, scheduling and cost control tools is essential.
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite is essential.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of computer literacy
