The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers to join our ever-growing team on a Full Time basis, on an exciting Construction Project  in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. This role will be FIFO from Perth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret working plans and steel lists for the job 
  • Steel Erection
  • Set out the work from these instructions
  • Make steel bars or mesh the required length by cutting them with bolt cutters, guillotines and power saws
  • Assemble the reinforcing bars or mesh by wiring or clipping into predetermined locations as per the drawings
  • Fabricate steel reinforcement as beams, footing pads or special units
  • Join the prefabricated units together for large sections
  • Position the reinforcement ready for concrete pours
  • Assist with concrete placement
  • Clean up wire-ties

About You

  • 3 years minimum experience in steel fixing
  • Previous construction experience in the mining and resources sector
  • Current high risk Elevated Work platform and Forklift licenses
  • Current Working Safely at Heights Certificate
  • Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card
