The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking expressions of interest Instrumentation Technicians to join our ever-growing team, on an exciting Construction Project recently awarded in the Pilbara Region of WA. This role will be FIFO from Perth.

The Project

The Robe Valley Sustaining – MESA A Project is located near Warramboo, approximately 140 km Southwest of Karratha in the Pilbara region of WA.

The town of Pannawonica is the nearest township and is located approximately 14 km northeast of the existing Mesa J hub and approximately 40 km east of the existing Mesa A hub.

Civmec’s Scope for the Mesa A Project includes the supply, fabrication, modularisation, transportation to site, erection, modification, installation, and commissioning of structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation.

Construction works is ramping up and Civmec invites interested parties for interview immediately.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and install control systems and associated equipment such as flow meters, variable speed drivers and pressure and level transmitters. Tasks involve trouble-shooting, routine maintenance, calibration and fault-finding.
  • Review the customer specification to ensure all technical aspects of contract are clear and understood.
  • Liaise with the customer on all technical aspects.
  • Provide a focal point for all technical based queries from all CIVMEC Personnel, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Trace out and test electronic solid state and vacuum tube circuitry and components to locate defective parts in analogue and digital, protection, or radiation monitoring systems, using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Remove defective instruments from system, decontaminate, disassemble, and clean instruments, and replace defective parts, using hand tools.
  • Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems.

About You

  • Minimum ‘A' grade Electrical Workers/Technician license
  • Certificate III or IV in Instrumentation and Controls
  • Basic First Aid certification
  • White Card
  • Current qualifications in High Voltage Switching Operations
  • Installation and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas
