Civmec’s Balance Machines Material Handling division is seeking an experienced Contracts & Procurement Manager to lead procurement strategies for balance machines material handling equipment and drive strategic initiatives. Based at our Perth CBD office, you’ll provide essential procurement support to the design team, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of equipment and services. Supported by Contract Administrators, you’ll play a key role in strengthening Civmec’s procurement capabilities and efficiency for existing and future projects.

 

In this pivotal role, you’ll manage complex contracts, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance while building strong supplier relationships to optimise commercial outcomes. Your expertise in negotiation and strategic guidance will help deliver seamless project execution and shape the success of Civmec’s material handling projects.

The Role 

  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle for balance machines material handling equipment and supply items, including tendering, evaluation, negotiation, contract award, and supplier performance.
  • Apply and administer existing company procurement policies to ensure compliance, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Lead supplier sourcing and relationship management, including qualification, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and drive cost optimisation while maintaining quality and delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (project managers, design leads, estimators) to forecast demand and align procurement schedules.
  • Provide strategic procurement leadership and reporting, including budgets, savings, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Foster team development and continuous improvement, promoting innovation, smarter sourcing, and automation.

 

About You

Your experience should include the following:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Contracts Management or similar field
  • Prior experience in similar roles with responsibility for oversight of procurement
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong, clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
