Civmec is experiencing continued growth within its Balance Machines division and is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join its procurement team, based in our Perth CBD Office.

In this role, you will be reporting to the Commercial Manager and will be instrumental to supporting the delivery of complex construction and manufacturing projects by managing head compliance and administration. Working closely with procurement , engineering and project teams, you will play a key role in ensuring Civmec’s commercial and contractual interests are protected while maintaining strong relationships with the client.

The Role

  • Support the administration of the head contract obligations, including the formation and submission of variations, progress claims, notices of delay and extension of time claims;
  • Lead the administration of subcontracts, ensuring contractual compliance, accurate records and alignment with project objectives.
  • Prepare, review and issue formal contractual correspondence, including notices, determinations and claim responses.
  • Assist the Project Commercial Manager by providing commercial advice on contractual entitlements, risks and performance issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date commercial registers, records and documentation that are audit‑ready and compliant with governance requirements.

 

About You

Your experience should include the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification desirable, such as Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial or Law but not essential;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in contract administration, with a strong focus on managing existing subcontracts on complex projects. Previous experience in defence contracts is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally with subcontractors and internal stakeholders, both written and verbal.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook, with the ability to manage commercial records and reporting efficiently.
