Civmec is seeking motivated Deputy Project Managers, ideally Senior Project Engineers who are ready to step into their next career move. You’ll support the delivery of major construction projects across Civil, SMP, and E&I packages, contributing to high‑profile works within a dynamic project environment.

Working closely with the Project Manager and internal stakeholders, you’ll help drive project performance, coordination, and execution.

 

The role is offered on a 2:1 FIFO roster, providing strong career progression within a leading national contractor.

The Role

  • Support the Project Manager by overseeing engineering and procurement activities.
  • Prepare and coordinate timely contractual notices, including variations, claims, and EOTs, and assist with negotiations and closeout.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams, subcontractors, and the client to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Contribute to accurate weekly dashboards, progress updates, and project reporting.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement across all project activities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, regulatory, and quality requirements.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and cost control to keep the project on track.

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • A relevant engineering degree.
  • Experience supporting project delivery across civil, SMP, or E&I scopes.
  • Strong coordination skills with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Ability to prepare variations, claims, and EOTs with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Confidence in reporting, scheduling, and contributing to weekly dashboards.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Solid understanding of environmental and regulatory requirements.
