The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking experienced Project Engineers with strong SMP project experience to join our team.

This role will be based in our Henderson facility with travel to site required during project periods (various FIFO rosters).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for your own safety whilst on any Civmec premises or project sites;
  • Conduct or participate in daily pre-starts and tool box meetings;
  • Reviews Scope of Work documents and ensures project specifications and code requirements are covered within the Scope of Work
  • Provides technical support during all project phases to ensure that project designs meet operational requirements, specified engineering standards, quality standards and time and profit objectives for the Project.  
  • Assessment of risks and hazards involved in tasks, and methods to manage the hazards in order to prevent incidents, injury and damage.
  • Assists with the compilation of construction Work Packs and test packs in accordance with Project requirement
  • Review, create, issue and follow up all request for information (RFI’s) and technical queries (TQ’s)
  • Resolve technical issues in an expedient and cost-effective manner;
  • Prepares requisitions for materials and services in accordance with Project requirements (content, accuracy and timing). 
  • Identification, raising and managing variations to the Contract
  • Develop and maintain tracking registers
  • Identify and report causes of delay and/or disruption to the management immediately
  • Development, management and assessment of subcontractor scopes of works
  • Participate in daily, weekly and monthly progress reporting
  • Assist in cost and schedule monitoring and reporting
  • Subcontractor management
  • Ensures quality records are progressively completed and signed off in accordance with the schedule
  • Prepares and administers all Inspection and Test Plans and associated project-specific procedures as required
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
  • Completion of Red Line Drawings as required
  • Ensures that the surveys of installations throughout the Project are conducted in a professional manner with all results being reviewed and accepted;
  • Ensures that the quality requirements of the Company are adhered to and that the Company’s procedures are followed;
  • Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in structural/mechanical engineering or construction management
  • Sound knowledge of the application and establishment of project planning, scheduling and cost control tools
  • Sound knowledge of Navisworks application software
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Previous project experience on SMP projects ideally in the mining, oil and gas sector
