  • New opportunity to join our winning Bids and Tenders Team in Henderson WA.  
  • We are seeking a suitably experienced SMP Estimator to join our estimating team 
  • This is a full time permanent position based at our Corporate Head Office in Henderson WA

 

Preferred experience includes a first principal application in Structural / Mechanical / Piping with heavy steel construction and a background including the following;

  • Understanding of SMP projects in the mining and oil and gas industry including key equipment and methodology considerations;
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and documents such as management plans;
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is considered a necessity;
  • Ability to work positively in a team environment.

The Role

Typically you will apply first principal methodologies and:

 

  • Report to the Proposals Manager on tender preparation progress and advise of any difficulties in compiling tender submissions
  • Determine scope of work and specific terms and conditions
  • Prepare and coordinate the subcontract components required for tender submissions
  • Obtain highly competitive quotes for the provision of necessary materials and services
  • Undertake accurate material take-offs
  • Accurately calculate man-hour estimates, mobilisation and demobilisation costs, and plant and equipment required to specifically execute projects
  • Assist with construction scheduling and planning where required
  • Collate material take-offs and job costs into clear, well-structured spreadsheets or databases
  • Partake in tender reviews with senior management and adjust costings as required

About You

Essential

 

  • The successful applicant will demonstrate a minimum of five years' experience gained with a recognised contractor working in the construction, mining and resource industries on large scale projects
  • Previous experience within the E&I, SMP or fabrication disciplines
  • The successful applicant will display proven leadership skills and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with their co-workers and management
