The Opportunity


Full Time - Permanent Position


Civmec offer a new opportunity for an accomplished SMP Estimator to join our Corporate bidding team. Based in our state-of-the-art Henderson Corporate facility, you will join our highly successful bids and tenders proposals team providing estimate schedules for multi-disciplined projects across a broad range of project scope. This is a permanent full-time position based in Henderson WA.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Reviewing tender documentation to determine scope and specific terms and conditions
  • Update, and report to the Proposals Manager on the tender preparation progress and advise of any difficulties in compiling the tender submission;
  • Review tender documentation to determine scope and specific terms and conditions;
  • Working to the quality management system procedures and work instructions;
  • Prepare and coordinate the subcontract components required for the tender submission;
  • Take timely corrective action to address any issued non-conformances;
  • Obtain highly competitive quotes for the provision of necessary materials and services;
  • Undertake accurate material take-offs;
  • Accurately calculate man hour estimates;
  • Mobilisation and Demobilisation Costs;
  • Plant and Equipment required specifically to execute the project;
  • Assist with construction schedule and planning to execute the project;
  • Develop construction methodology identifying synergies and saving;
  • Partake in tender reviews with senior management and adjust costings as required;
  • Prepare professional tender submission documents in line with client and Company requirements;
  • Brief the Business Unit Manager on the specifics of successful tenders and carry out internal tender ‘handover ‘meetings of successful tenders to the project team;

About You


  • Tertiary qualifications in structural, mechanical, civil engineering or construction management
  • Experience in working on multidisciplined projects / schedules
  • Previous experience within the SMP or fabrication disciplines
  • Extensive experience gained with recognised engineering contractors working in the construction, mining and resource industries on large scale projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in use of MS Word and Excel
