The Opportunity

With a healthy order book of work and a structured growth plan in place, Civmec is currently delivering several projects and operates nationwide. We are seeking a recent HR/IR Graduate to join our growing and passionate HR team.

The successful person will join the high-performing corporate HR team located at the Henderson office. Working alongside our state-of-the-art world class manufacturing workshops. Those individuals who are generally interested in people and making a difference are encouraged to apply as this is a high impact role where no two days are the same. There is an opportunity to further develop your career and take ownership of a diverse portfolio of projects which will provide you with unique exposure to our construction, defence, maintenance and manufacturing business units.

Duties and Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Providing advice to employees and the company on the effective management of employee relations including: 
    • Interpretation of employment contracts, enterprise agreements and legislation
    • Performance management
    • EEO
    • Counselling / Discipline and Termination
    • Grievance Management
  • Provide advice on HR procedures and systems and ensure effective application of those throughout the company.
  • Identifies human resource issues and appropriate intervention
  • Coordinate Right of Entry visits including any dispute resolutions.
  • Undertake special projects including investigations and research on project HR matters.
  • Travel to Civmec remote sites as necessary.

About You


  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced working environment
  • Developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • A drive towards continuous improvement
  • Outstanding communication and written skills
  • Human Resources / Industrial Relations degree or qualification is preferred.


  • Previous work experience in a similar position
  • Strong working knowledge of the industrial relationship frame work and Fair Work Act
