The Role

Civmec is embarking on a journey of diversification and expansion, and we have an exciting opportunity for Managers who share our values. With a robust pipeline of current and upcoming projects, we are looking for experienced Construction Managers to join our team in W.A. These roles involve working across both Civil and SMP construction projects and offer both DIDO and FIFO opportunities. Our Construction Managers are responsible for the effective planning and control of construction activities, supervising teams and crews to ensure that site works are completed safely, on time, to the required quality standards, and within budget.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
 
•    Supervise and control the overall construction works and direct the work to ensure production targets are met. 
•    Understanding the Project schedule and direct the day-to-day work such that the work crews meet the schedule requirements.
•    Understanding allocated manhours and budget for the work area and working to ensure that productivity targets are met.
•    Delegate functional responsibility to all superintendents, supervisors, direct and indirect reports, including subcontractors for frontline HSE, Quality and Industrial Relations requirements
•    Directs and controls construction activities to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and that time schedules are met
•    Ensure daily team manning and roster are levelled out and optimum resources are on site to meet daily progress and productivity targets

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:


•    Trade /Tertiary qualifications in related discipline
•    Construction white card
•    C Class Driver’s License
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
•    Minimum ten (10) years’ experience working in the construction, mining and resource industries on large scale projects
•    Sound and established Project Execution knowledge 
•    Ability to communicate effectively, lead and manage subcontractors. 
•    Excellent negotiation, leadership, written and verbal communication skills
