Civmec’s Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) division, Balanced Machines, is driving the future of materials handling. We design and deliver next-generation balanced machines, stackers, reclaimers, and shiploaders. Every machine is crafted at our state-of-the-art Henderson facility, from design and fabrication through assembly, testing, and finally on-site installation and commissioning.
We are seeking experienced Construction Managers to lead the successful delivery of balance machine construction projects. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role provides strategic leadership across project execution, safety, commercial performance and stakeholder engagement.
You will oversee Superintendents and Supervisors while ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably and in accordance with contractual, quality and compliance requirements.
This is a senior leadership role suited to a results-driven professional with strong commercial acumen and extensive experience across materials handling machinery, mining, or large-scale industrial construction projects.

The Role
- Lead and coordinate all construction activities to safely deliver the project on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- The role will be required to manage and coordinate the off-site assembly of machines at our Henderson facility with our team, followed by transitioning to the installation site to complete the delivery and on-site installation of the machines.
- The Construction Manager will closely liase with the Commissioning Manager, design and engineering, procurement and fabrications teams.
- Champion a proactive safety culture and ensure full compliance with HSE legislation, project HSE plans, and Civmec procedures.
- Manage construction schedules, progress tracking, cost control, forecasting, and productivity reporting to drive consistent performance.
- Oversee engineering interfaces, ensure timely release of work packs and drawings, and coordinate procurement and subcontractor deliverables.
- Lead all contractual and commercial aspects of construction delivery, including variations, claims, extensions of time, and change control.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring clear communication, transparency, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance management to Superintendents, Supervisors, and site teams.
- Monitor cost to complete forecasting, resource utilisation, and margin performance to ensure financial targets are met.
- Ensure labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor resources align with the project’s rolling 4 week lookahead schedule.
- Drive continuous improvement across safety performance, construction methodology, productivity, systems, and site operations.
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior construction leadership role overseeing complex, large scale site works.
- Proven experience delivering balance machines, reclaimers, stackers and shiploaders, material handling equipment, mineral resources, or heavy industrial construction projects.
- Strong capability across project planning, scheduling, cost control, and progress measurement systems.
- Demonstrated leadership of large, diverse, and multidisciplinary construction teams.
- Solid understanding of project controls, forecasting, risk management, and performance reporting.
- Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship building skills.
- A proactive, accountable, and visible approach to HSE leadership, with a strong commitment to safety excellence.
- Ability to travel to remote locations on a FIFO basis.
