The Opportunity

Civmec has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Project Controls Manager to become an intergal member of our management team for the construction of twelve Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) as part of the Australian Commonwealth’s SEA1180 Program.

This Henderson WA based role will commence immediately working closely with the OPV Project Manager.  The first two OPVs are already under construction in South Australia, before construction of the remaining ten moves to Henderson in early 2020. These ten vessels will be constructed at our purpose-built state-of-the-art 53,000 sqm 70-metre high facility, currently under construction and due for completion in late 2019.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate project controls capabilities in the areas of contracts, cost control, scheduling and business development
  • Implement, maintain and continually improve the Contract Master Schedule
  • Implement, maintain and continually improve the Earned Value Management plan
  • Draft and present the Earned Value Management Report, Quarterly Contract Status Report and the end of month Cost Variance Report
  • Perform general cost control and project scheduling activities
  • Implement suitable systems, processes tools and procedures for the project
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
  • Review and audit project controls activities as required
  • Identify and recruit project control personnel
  • Develop and mentor project controls specialists
About You

Essential
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role is preferred
At least 2 years of supervisory experience, training. Leading and mentoring project controls team
Strong computer skills - MS Word, Excel and scheduling program(s)
Experience in using Primavera P6
 

Preferred
Previous experience in ship building and/or major Defence contracts.
Experience in using Open Plan Professional
Experience in using Cobra EVM Software
